District 4 Academy League

To register for the Academy for the 2010-2011 seasons is as follows:

  1. Team manager/ coach will need to get to me:
         a. a copy of the roster (remember ONLY 10 players allowed)
         b. copies of birth certificates (the district register needs these to verify birthdates)
         c. copies of Coach volunteer form, coach code of ethics form
         d. coach E license waiver form and or copy of license (if you coached last year on waiver you MUST have license)  these forms can be found at Utahyouthsoccer.net under downloadable forms

  2. Once team is entered into state system and verified. The register will contact coach/team manager/ club representative to provide players URL numbers. These individual numbers are then given to each child on your team so, they may continue the registration process on-line.

  3. Parents will complete the registration on line which will require:
         a. player URL number
         b. parent will create account and password on affinity system
         c. parent will be required to upload birth certificate
         d. parent will be required to upload a picture (a head shot like a passport type picture)
         e. parent will pay all fees on line the fees total $ 75.00 for Academy (If you are part of a club the fees associated with that will be added on)

  4. Once ALL players have registered online the system will generate cards and will be distributed to register. Register will contact coach/team manager to pick up finished cards.
All registrations need to go through the League Registrars

A couple of important dates:
 
JULY 9, 2010 is the Academy Registration deadline.

Academy Mission Statement
The district 4 Academy league was created to provide a quality soccer experience for players between the ages of 7 through 9 years old who are making the transition from recreational soccer to competitive soccer through this developmental program. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun and instructional environment that promotes [layer development and fair play.

General Information
The District 4 Academy League is being offered to boys and girls in the U8-U9 age groups for the 2010-2011 seasons. The league is open to both club and independent teams.

Age requirements:
U8 born between 8/2002 through 7/2003
U9 born between 8/2001 through 7/2002
Currently NO U7 players can play in Academy

Team Requirements:
Both U8 & U9 teams will play 6v6
Roster is comprised of a minimum of 6 players and a maximum of 10 players.
(5 + a goalkeeper)

Based on the number of teams, the league will be split into divisions determined by skill level. Teams wanting to be placed in a higher division will be asked to provide a team record. All other will others will be placed by Academy League Committee. Geographical locations will be taken in account for placement. It is the intent of the league to have teams placed by skill level for parity and in some cases, girls teams and boys teams may be in the same bracket.

The state season starts around August 23rd.
The district season starts around August 28th.

Reminder: League 30 President and Independent competition committee representative will be voted on at this coaches meeting.
